I haven’t posted anything in awhile cause I’ve been busy making my animated movies and I couldn’t think of anything to post that I haven’t already posted. But I got something.
I had a debate one time with my brother about, when did Jason first become supernatural? I argued that he didn’t become supernatural until Part 6, because he was revived by a lightning bolt, but my brother argues that in the third movie, Jason got hit in the head with an ax and came back in Part 4 saying that no normal man could survive that.
Also, I love the ending of the first movie, but, it doesn’t really make much sense to me. I mean, was it a dream? Was it not a dream? I mean, Alice seemed to think it wasn’t with her parting line “then he’s still there.” But also, since they made a sequel, it doesn’t make much sense because Jason came out of the water as a child and in the sequel he’s a full grown man.
But I have a new theory, I was at a comic book convention where a friend of mine bought me a Friday the 13th trivia book, where the Forward was written by Ari Lehman, the first Jason, who came out of the water and grabbed Alice at the end of the first film. In the Forward, he said that he thought that Jason came back to life after his mother’s blood hit the lake and that’s was the birth of Jason. So that the ending of Part 1 wasn’t a dream, that after his mother’s death, it brought Jason back to life to rise out of the lake and grab Alice. After she managed to get away from him, he emerged from the lake, and grew into a full grown man. The idea is that Jason’s evil is so powerful that he can take on a hulking form, he’s a force of nature. I mean, I know it doesn’t make sense, but then again, it also doesn’t make sense that he just can’t die. So if his evil is so powerful that he can’t die, I think it stands to reason that he could take on a hulking form. I actually ran this by someone, and he theorized that maybe Jason grew into a teacher between Part 1 and Part 2, because there’s a 5 year gab between those movies. I mean, his theory is just as good as mine.
One evidence to this theory, is that in Part 6, Tommy Jarvis tries to kill Jason for good by submerging him into the lake, saying that Jason cannot be at peace until he is back in his original resting place, the original place he died, which was under the lake. He’s claiming that Jason died for the first time when he drowned as a child. And again, how can he drown as a child and then grow into a full grown adult. Both of those theories of him growing into full grown man stands to explain that Jason came back to life when he came out of the lake and grabbed Alice and that he has always been supernatural.
I think it’s a pretty good theory and I love the idea that Jason came back to life in response to his mother’s death and I think it make the ending of the first movie make sense. At least in my opinion. I even plan to make an animated movie of this idea someday when I finish my third animated feature. I got this vision of Jason’s mother getting decapitated and a drop of her blood hitting the lake, and the blood snakes through the water and finds Jason’s skeleton, and consumes him where he grows back his organs and flesh, and then attacking Alice. Then growing into a full grown man, with his mother’s voice saying like “I have given you the power to take your revenge!”
